Angela Mentis
Angela has deep experience across all facets of financial services organisations in Australia, NZ, Asia, UK and US.
Throughout her professional career, Angela has been interested in making a difference to customers, colleagues and the communities she served. Angela is passionate about authentic, purpose driven leadership and has extensive experience in large scale customer and culture transformations to deliver performance.
Angela’s executive career has spanned 37 years in financial services. In her last executive role as Chief Digital, Data and Analytics Officer, nab, she brought the customer mindset to the technology to create humanistic experiences for colleagues and customers. Angela was Managing Director & CEO of BNZ where she built a strong culture of customer, colleague and performance and was recognised for leadership positions across sustainability, digital, microfinance, customer and colleague.
Prior to this Angela was Group Executive, Business Banking nab, the biggest business banking franchise in Australia where she led NABs global institutional customer business, specialised businesses, medium and corporate business customer segments, small business, private bank, and JBWere. 8,000 colleagues across 200 points of presence in Australia, Asia, UK and US. She has held leadership roles at Westpac and Citibank. Angela served as a Director of BNZ. She is a former Director of the NZ Banking Ombudsman, Loyalty NZ, JBWere, WealthHub Securities, MLC Advice Licences and National Australia Trustees Boards. She is a former Business Champion for the Australian Government’s New Colombo Plan, Australian Governments Simplified Trade Systems Industry Advisory Council and the NSW Governments Digital Skills and Workforce Compact. Angela is currently a non-executive director with FirstCape and Reece Limited Group.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Business (Finance and Economics and a sub major in Business Law) from the University of Technology, Sydney and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a senior Fellow of FINSIA and a member of Chief Executive Women.
Angie is married to Rob and they are blessed with two adult children, Rebecca and Harrison. She is passionate about family and friends and has a love of art, books, cooking, and the beach.
