Mazin Manna

Mazin Manna brings a wealth of expertise in the financial services industry with over 34 years of experience across international, regional and local banks, including a 12-year tenure as CEO. With a strong background in corporate banking, investment banking, commercial banking, retail banking, and Islamic banking, Mazin has spearheaded the growth and revitalisation of numerous businesses, consistently demonstrating a disciplined approach to governance and risk management. He is credited with devising and implementing Fintech strategies for both retail and corporate banking businesses.

Throughout his career, Mazin has prioritised the cultivation of high performance teams and the nurturing of talent through coaching and mentoring. By fostering deep and trusted relationships within his teams, Mazin has enabled and empowered team members to push their boundaries, encouraging them to stretch and challenge themselves to reach their full potential.

Mazin’s most recent role was as the Group CEO of AL Baraka Banking Group, following his tenure as the Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. In these positions, he led the commercial, retail, corporate, and private banking divisions. Prior to this, Mazin was the CEO for the Middle East and North Africa at Credit Agricole CIB and Group Senior Country Officer for the Credit Agricole Group in the UAE, overseeing its corporate and investment banking, asset management and private banking. He was also responsible for the organisation’s regional business following his appointment in July 2015. Mazin was also a member of the Management Committee and the Extended Executive Committee of Credit Agricole CIB.

 

Before his time at Credit Agricole, Mazin spent 24 years at Citi, culminating in his role as the CEO for Bahrain from 2010 to 2015. In this capacity, he managed corporate, commercial, private, Islamic, and consumer banking businesses, including operations in Saudi Arabia. He also co-headed Citigroup’s corporate and investment banking division in the Middle East and held various senior positions in Islamic banking and corporate finance, such as Managing Director of Citi Islamic Investment Bank and Senior Credit Officer.

 

Mazin also served as Chair or Board member of several banking organisations in the region, focusing on sustainability, growth and innovation. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, the Human Resource Development Fund Bahrain and Injaz Al Arab.

 

He holds a degree in Economics with a specialisation in Management Sciences from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
