Mansoor Tirmzi

Mansoor Tirmzi is a banking and finance professional with extensive experience of Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Enterprise Risk Management, and Corporate Governance. He has played a leadership role in strategic acquisitions, divestitures, integration projects, and business restructuring. He achieved notable success at Citi and HSBC in retaining talent, developing people, and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of large teams across multiple locations.

Mansoor has served in conflict situations (First Gulf war, Afghanistan) and also in several emerging markets where the regulatory and business environment was rapidly evolving. His experience of managing strategic change and crisis management in such situations has strengthened his belief that true leaders rise to meet and overcome business challenges in difficult circumstances. He encourages self-knowledge, self-belief, and openness to new thinking and change. His approach is based on critical analysis and identifying all possible solutions to a challenge –  and he views his role as a catalyst to mobilise the essentials for success – clear thinking, open communication, flexibility of approach in rapidly changing situations, and calm, courageous execution.

A UK-qualified Chartered Accountant, his 42-year career in the Financial Services sector includes leadership roles with Citibank and HSBC in several flagship locations across the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Key country CFO roles include Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Hong Kong – as well as regional Finance and Risk Management roles in Asia Pacific. He has led strategic reviews for business restructuring, implemented key projects, and managed large teams across multiple locations in Asia pacific.

Mansoor has also served as an Independent Director at two financial institutions, where he focused on strategic business restructuring. He also acts as a financial consultant and business advisor to several organisations in the Middle East and Asia pacific.

Mansoor  enjoys spending time with his wife and his two children, who work in Dubai and Singapore respectively. Always a keen sportsman, he continues his passion for competitive squash and golf. He is an avid reader, enjoys travel, and aspires to author a blog and undertake social work as a volunteer.
