Malcolm Harrison

Malcolm Harrison is an international Board level executive with expertise in General Management, Operations, Procurement and Sales. He has operated in diverse business environments across Brazil, China, France, GCC, UK, USA, and West Africa. He is an engaging leader experienced in acquisitions, disposals, post-merger integration, and improving business performance through growth and cost reduction initiatives. He focuses on rapidly identifying gaps, growth, and continuous improvement opportunities; developing and successfully implementing multi-faceted, competitive, business strategies in complex environments; building and leading high-performing international teams to deliver results. Malcolm maintains that good leaders always prioritise the development of their teams and themselves and know when they need advice.

Malcolm believes that everyone has the potential to grow. He sees coaching and mentoring as powerful tools for unlocking potential through bringing a supportive yet challenging perspective that also leverages lived experiences. As a former CEO, Malcolm understands how isolating it can be at the top of any organisation and the value of having an experienced Mentor as a confidential strategic sounding board.

Malcolm has amassed over 30 years of experience in the consumer goods industry. His career started at the Mars Group, where he spent ten years. Subsequently, he held the position of Divisional CEO at Rexam plc, a leading FTSE 100 Consumer Packaging company. During his time at Rexam, Malcolm was responsible for overseeing the global plastics business, which included managing 48 factories and a workforce of 13,000 across seven countries. With a strong background in Procurement and Supply Chain management, Malcolm served as the global Chief Procurement Officer for Anheuser Busch InBev and later for Nestle from 2000 to 2009. Additionally, he held the role of HR Operations Director at Bass (now Intercontinental Hotels Group) and was a Board member of Britvic Soft Drinks.

 

In 2015, he was appointed as CEO of the Crown Commercial Service, a UK Government entity overseeing procurement across the public sector. Subsequently, in 2018, he became Group CEO of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), spearheading efforts to enhance supply chain professionals’ capabilities globally, with a particular focus on Saudi Arabia.

 

Malcolm is a Non-Executive Director at Chemonics Group UK and a Senior Adviser at Efficio, a leading global procurement and supply chain consulting firm.

 

Malcolm holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Cambridge University.

 

Malcolm is married to Belinda and they have four grown-up children: three daughters and one son; with two grandsons. He finds joy in outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, gardening, and watching sports.
